"Quick: Name one thing about Windows 8 that they don’t already get from Windows 7-or a great desktop Linux like Mint or Mac OS X Lion? I can’t."
- works on more hardware than those other 2 combined
- actually installs
- wireless works, and not just at 16 kbps (yes linunx mint, you're the re-re-incarnation of the linux "hit" ubuntu, and in 2012 you STILL have that bug. No, I won't edit soeme hidden linux file that's prefixed by a point to fix that)
- games & directx
- it's faster
- upgradig from win 7 is cheap
- you can try the developer version for free and remove it completly if you don't like it
- the desktop doesn't jerk for no apparent reason (not only is this happening on all hip linuxes in 2012, it's the exact same issue they had 5 years ago)
- it installs with 3 clicks on any and all hardware. no need to recompile anything
- can run multiple instances of the same application at the same time with one click, something that apple is to hip to learn how to do
- I can actually watch a blu-ray movie
- kinect
Oh sorry, you said "name ONE". I've used about 23 versions of linux and debian and I retry os x each half-year. So far I'm still on windows.
Agreed on your comment. Article is biased on Linux and there are advantages of using Win 8. I like to know your opinion on removing start button and metro interface
That's a bunch of FUD as well. It's not "removed" it's just off by default. People that don't miss it won't miss it. Those that do can bring it back easily. Infact if the whole metro thing is not your doodle you can make win 8 look like win 98 or 7
Any article source on that? Because it was a hot news and I still find more links that says it is removed. I am not using win 8. I just read reviews around internet. So I might be missing some points. Also I remember that pressing start button in the keyboard brings metro interface rather than the start menu. Is it true?
