Yesterday Florida became the first state in the nation to implement aggressive front-end fraud prevention technology to ensure benefits go to Floridians who are in need. And it runs on LexisNexis HPCC Big Data. In 2012 alone, DCF distributed more than $27 billion in public assistance to Floridians and federal estimates that from 3 – 5 percent of dollars distributed are estimated to be lost to fraud. Florida's Dept of Child and Families (DCF) recently rolled out new public assistance fraud fighting initiatives. Using Hadoop alternative HPCC Systems LexisNexis Risk Solutions is a $1.5B division of LexisNexis that has been delivering analytics for more than a decade. In June 2011 HPCC Systems open sourced the core Big Data code to the technology community and for use in academic and business use. I would be happy to arrange a conversation with Dr. Flavio Villanustre, VP, Infrastructure & Security at HPCC Systems on how HPCC's efforts are projected to save tax payers millions. Florida unveiled a PSA on the fraud campaign here at press conference.
