This post looks at the data model for Foundbite in a relational database (such as MySQL) and compares it with its actual implementation in Cloudant's JSON document store. The article provides a hypothetical relational model and sample SQL statements to contrast both approaches. Foundbite launched in the Windows Phone Store last month. It's a social media app that combines elements of geolocation data (think Foursquare) and media-sharing (think Instagram) to create a new way to share your experiences through photos combined with the ambient sounds captured at the time and place they were taken.
