I actually really enjoyed the first article and thought he made som egreat points. Maybe the Dr analogy isn't perfect, however I know lots of people with many years of experience in the world of IT that are consistantly thinking with the mind they came into the industry with and not evolving with new ideas and standards.

Idiots - I will break it down for you fast: there's a level of knowledge for most things that can only be obtained thru experience. To say you know Java or Ruby or Struts because you read a blog or book, well, gues what? You don't. You need to use things to make an accurate evaluation.

Wow, do you guys actually read the articles? The article that this was referencing did not say experience was worthless. It said harmful experience is worthless.

Oh I'm sorry my comment was actually just the intro to a highly nuanced post disguised as a troll (though actually the content is mostly a troll also, but why not try to have it both ways?)
