Conclusion: FTP is an outdated, insecure, slow, unfriendly pig of a protocol. It's got no business being on the Internet in the 21st century.

yep, it should die. it still shockes me that ftp is not fixed to code passwords.

for authenticated logons I agree. however security is less important for public download only ftp servers where anonymous ftp is the only way for access.

it still has a place, just not the place most tend to put it in.
