David Chelimsky announced last night that the git experiment has begun. For those of you who aren't familiar with git, you should check out Linus Torvalds's informative and entertaining talk. The best way to learn how to use it effectively is to follow the tutorial. There's a second part which is more in depth and was a bit tougher for me to get at first, but I highly recommend reading and experimenting until you understand it, because it's crucial for really getting git's underlying concepts. For day-to-day mechanics, you can't get much better than Geoffrey Grosenbach's git screencast.
