Taking a look a the more popular social news and blog search engines I found that their search and category services are not up to par. Most social sites may be popular for pushing new information to the top of their own listing but they are terrible if you are trying to find it.

This is a pretty good article... I'll have to agree with the author about reddit's search engine, which really is quite decent.

Otherwise, I dislike the way virtually everything you post on reddit gets modded down virtually immediately into some black hole in negative land that it can never come out of. The only way to avoid the black hole is to get a bunch of people to immediately up-vote your link, which still only means that people will see your link for a few minutes before it gets modded down.

I think their recommendation system is what drives everybody to downvote everything, because it encourages users to do so.

Also they could really improve their subreddit organization.
