The Oracle RDBMS has been around for 22 years now. Windows NT development started 12 years ago. Microsoft Word is positively long in the tooth; I remember seeing Word 1.0 for DOS in high school

The example of Mozilla for mistake 5, "We'll Ship It When It's Ready" syndrome, is pretty impressive in hindsight. Just count how many years it's been since this was written, and now Firefox has carved out a sizable browser share...
