Google just released a web-based mashup creator and hosting environment. The editor accepts HTML, CSS, and Google-specific XML tags. These tags provide access to google feeds such as the Google Calendar and Base. The example we just saw built in front of us took six lines of code and plotted locations on a map. Pretty impressive. This can be hosted at googlemashups.com or you can make a gadget for iGoogle.

Bah - you can't use it yet. At the time of this writing, it's not even Beta!

So when you get to the site, all you can do is sign up to receive a notification to be told when you can _later_ sign up for possible participation in the Beta - lame.

@jimbojw -

Agreed, very frustrating. On a related note, I signed up for the MSFT Popfly beta the same day and I already received an invitation. Hopefully, Google opens up this mashup editor soon.
