Rumors have been flying wild lately about the Google Phone. The latest one is that the Google Phone will be using a Java based OS. Is the Google / Sun partnership finally paying off for Java?

If there is really a Google phone, I will eat my hat.

Why would they do this? They can do deals with every provider to get on the phones without having to get into this business.

Just cause Apple did it?

Talk about two companies with completely different skill sets.

I think that the hype this will cause, is probably worth the effort...besides why shouldn't Apple have some competition in this respect?
