Home Page-itis is the irrepressible urge to add crap you think is cool but no one else really cares about to your home page. In Google's case, they started out with a world-famous design. One input box, two buttons, that's it. Then came Doodles, Sidewiki, magically-appearing links, and the thankfully brief experiment with background images. Don't do a Google. Keep your home page clean.
