In this first Griffon Cast, I show you how to create a simple video player using Griffon in less than 10 minutes. If you'd like to try this on a Mac, see the links below. For those impatient souls, you can download the source code here.

Not bad. Would like to have had more griffon walk through. At least a discussion of what files were being modified and how @Bindable works and accessing the properties in the view through the model property. Things like that.

Point taken. I was trying to keep it quick and very approachable. If I used a bind { } closure, I would have explained it more. I think It's ok to let people think @Bindable is magic for now. This screencast is a follow up to my screencast/preso from last month so I chose to dive right into coding, explaining briefly where appropriate.

WRT the files being modified: every file that was touched was shown. [Initialize.groovy, the view, model, and controller]. I only wrote about 20 LOC in addition to what Griffon generates on app creation.

Menu -> VOD -> Groovy Sydney...
didn't put this one up there because Mogulus compresses the crap out of the video stream making it hard to read at times. Youtube was the only service I found that keeps the stream mostly intact.
