David Walsh posted a PHP snippet that would check Google to see how many pages are listed for a given domain. I thought it was interesting so I decided to convert it to Python and now I have converted it to Groovy. I am very new to Groovy so I am sure there is a Groovier way to do this, if so I'd love to hear your feedback.

Is it just me or does it seems a little too gamie that four of the first six votes are from dzone leaders. Hell, if it's like that let me sign up for zone leader!

Link didn't work ... Page not found.
Besides, why wouldn't you just use the numbers relayed in the Google Webmaster Central tools, Sitemaps - > Overview page where it tells you listed URLs in your sitempa as well as inidexed URLs?
Seems like re-inventing the wheel for no reason.
