Article from SitePoint. Netbooks now account for 20% of all laptop sales. Whilst they may have begun as simple low-powered Linux devices, have they evolved into high-specification Windows-only PCs?

Yeah, they did. Microsoft was very quick to move into the netbook space to kill off a little emerging market for Linux. Of course, nobody would have expected otherwise and they owe it to their shareholders. Microsoft is not a charity and Linux is not a protected species.
