This page shows the hello world program in esoteric programming languages — that is, working programming languages that were designed as experiments or jokes and were not intended for serious use.

HQ9+ is awfully simple and elegant, let's hype it! We can make it a success together! The others are all crap. Only complete idiots could ever even think of using anything other than HQ9+. Make no mistake, it's not just hello world that's so simple. HQ9+ garantees (based on sound mathematical reasoning) that you can write any program in just 11 + 1 characters. Every program starts with the letters H or HQ followed by up to 9 well placed characters which flow naturally from the developers soul and are automatically aligned with strategic business objectives. One additional character at the end is really just a bit flag that can be set by ORing together the following constants: SECURE, MAINTAINABLE, SCALABLE, DISTRIBUTED, OBJECT_ORIENTED, SERVICE_ORIENTED, AGILE and X. X activates a special extensibility mechanism that allows the language to reinvent itself (and all programs ever written in it) based on the fashion of the day. So this should really really be the last language generations of developers have to learn! Start to replace all your old code today, or you're going to be left behind!
