OSQA is the Open Source Q&A System. It is free software licensed under the GPL, and you can download the source code for OSQA from a Subversion server. OSQA is originally based on CNProg, an excellent Chinese Q&A web application written by Mike Chen and Sailing Cai. OSQA is written in Python and powered by the Django application framework.

For those who want an enterprise-quality solution, you should definitely look at http://answerhub.com AnswerHub is designed and built here at DZone by the same team that maintains OSQA, but the two systems share no code in common. OSQA was our first-generation effort, and AnswerHub came later and radically improves scalability, security and theming.
