Rémi Forax on a toy (for now...) framework that allows blocking methods from swing callbacks.

So is the end result of this that if the EventQueue from this project is used, synchronous IO from the file system is somehow transformed into NIO?

That would considerably improve a lot of crappy swing apps written by devs who haven't heard of SwingWorker.

that's really impressive and could open a whole new world of responsive swing apps. as an aside - i didn't know the java7 file api's were pluggable.
