Was hoping this would go into more depth than just how to install it. Was looking for actual best practices. (e.g. trunk, branch, tags setup, merges etc). Still, a good read for anyone not already using some form of source control...I can't imagine anyone NOT using source control, but thats just me. Hell I use it when I'm the only one on a project...

Hi lifewithryan, thanks for taking the time to write a comment about my post. You'll be happy to know that in parts two and possibly part 3 there will be much more detail about the workflow of a programmer using Subversion rather than the server side. I want to tackle this subject from start to finish. I'll post the newer sections here on dzone when they become available!
