As far as books like these go, I am sure that this is as good as any. But I always had a problem with books that tell me how to think. sure there are common denominators for programming, but a game developer, and finance developer do not think alike, even when writing mundane code.

Setting any type of thought pattern when coding, should be avoided. Otherwise you won't be able to adapt to new and sucky environments that are thrown your way.
