Twitter is a big proponent of knowledge sharing and open source software. It's also well known that Twitter moved away from Casandra, and turned back towards relational databases, like MySQL. But with the number of users and large amounts of data that Twitter handles, they have had to make some impressive additions and changes in creating their own "flavor" of MySQL database, based on MySQL 5.5. This week, they announced that they have released their MySQL Fork on GitHub.
