He's a little rude, but you have to admit, these are good pointers. The template evaluation is nice! One question... why does $F() give you the value of a element, instead of $V()?

$F() is a shortcut for Form.Element.getValue() which returns the current value of a form control

Hah, I forgot to comment on the rudeness! :D While I don't think Prototype is the most important development in JS, it does allow great improvements to be made, and enables other tools like Scriptaculous. Nice little article, thanks.
