Many developers are not aware of everything an htaccess file can do for them. I have provided the following cheatsheet as a reference for a handful of the more used functions.

The last two items regarding blocking search spiders on the cheat sheet won't work and the Apache server will give a "500 Internal Error" message for unrecognized directives. One should note that the cookbook examples on the Apache Foundation site are better and detail how the directives work together to provide a solution.

The author of this page must not work with Apache much. When he updated the last two items, one of the new examples didn't work either. I strongly recommend reading the Apache documentation over this page because this page doesn't provide any new information that isn't on the Apache site.

All examples have been corrected, thanks to comments from visitors, and the cheatsheet is now an even better reference for some of the more commonly used htaccess directives.
Thanks to all that contributed to the article, making it an even better guide for people to use.
