Microsoft Internet Explorer browser is prevailing in the global internet browser battle. Although considered by many informed users as inferior, the layman continues to use IE 11 giving Microsoft the largest market share. Between December and January, IE gained 0.30 percentage points (from 57.91 percent to 58.21 percent), Firefox dipped 0.27 percentage points (from 18.35 percent to 18.08 percent), and Chrome gained 0.06 percentage points (from 16.22 percent to 16.28 percent).
