Fed up with supporting IE 6? Ready to just cut it off? I don’t blame you. I generally feel that most problems people have with IE 6 are pretty easy to work around with practice, but that is not always the case, and I feel like the JavaScript support is even more problematic for developers.

Seems like another provocation like several years old self-rejected http://www.w3junkies.com/toocool/ . Still, +1.

I think it's a horrible idea. I agree that IE6 has to go, but this isn't the way to do it. A lot of corporations are locked into IE6 because they have software that uses IE6 as an interface. They can either rewrite their software that already works the way they want it to (costing quite a bit of money) or not upgrade their browser. Most of them choose not to upgrade. Having a popup or modal window that tells users to upgrade their browser when they can't is a good way to lose users.
