In this post, one of Pivotal’s Solution Architects, Christian Tzolov, shows us how to set up a multi-node Pivotal HD environment in 45 minutes. This environment is intended to help developers, architects, and operations teams learn and experiment with configurations and services. He provides detailed background, set-up info, and sample test data as he shows us the automated configuration and install of HDFS, Yarn, Pig, Zookeeper, HBase, Greenplum Extension Framework (GPXF), and HAWQ (Pivotal’s SQL on Hadoop engine) using Vagrant.
