Tried three, only got two installed. Not much of a search.
Some of the tools I looked at were 'hosted' so there is not install. I'm always on the lookout for newer tools. If you have any others, I'd love to hear about them.
But you didn't mention them either, so we can't benefit from your search. You only told us Trac was harder to install than YouTrack, and that you finally settled on Redmine.
What other solutions did you try?
Yes, Mantis is very popular and lots of people use it. I wasn't convinced on the easy install and configurability of it. Care to comment?
hm i only used it a couple weeks. the usage was fairly similar to bugzilla for me. and the installation seemed even easier than setting up wordpress.
I tried a total of five bug tracking tools, Bugzilla, TRAC, Redmine, YouTrack and Practitest. Tails and Practitest were the hosted alternatives. Perhaps that wasn't clear in the post.
I've since heard of Bugnet, though I haven't yet tried it out.
