It was kinda funny when I first read the headline (before I edited it a tiny bit) which said "Increasing the Memory used by Tomcat in Linux." I thought to myself, "that's easy, just wait a couple of minutes, Tomcat will always consume more memory!"
Of course, the article refers to increasing the max memory available to Tomcat, not to making Tomcat have piggish memory needs. Few will argue that Java app servers have memory needs which are already piggish enough!
