jPersist is an extremely powerful persistence API that is based on Active-Record. jPersist is mapless and has no need for XML or annotation based mapping (all mapping is automatic and dynamic).

I'm surprised by the two down votes given this open-source project. jPersist is a solid product with no reported problems (doesn't mean there aren't any), and plenty of positive feedback.

Both dzonereader and pulesen (Per Olesen) are supposedly open-source contributors and should know better. If they have issues with jPersist they should make them known on the freely available support/bug tracking features of sourceforge.net.

However, as it turns out both dzonereader and pulesen (Per Olesen) are supporters of ActiveObjects (a competing project that came out a couple of months later) and submit dzone links to that project, which makes their votes even more offensive as they obviously down voted based on their allegiance to another.

They should both be ostracized by the open-source community as their behavior is not in the spirit of open-source.

In addition:

It's not that there were two down votes, I can handle down votes. It's that there were two down votes from two open-source developers (with their own open-source projects), and when looking at their dzone profiles I find they are at least indirectly involved with a competing project (submitting links to articles for ActiveObjects).

I wouldn't let it worry you. There are some people who cast a lot of down votes, and they rarely add comments to explain their negative mark. Perhaps we should add a requirement for people to explain their down vote with a brief comment, at least.

Thanks Rick! I greatly appreciate all you do for us.

I won't let it get to me and, in fact, I was expecting it and more. But, these two have open-source projects of their own, and I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate someone doing the same.
