Intel Parallel Universe, a free cloud-based application scalability testing service, launched today. One of the key challenges faced in multicore programming is scalability, which is a measure of how well an application’s performance improves as the number of processor cores increase. While quad-core processors are commonplace, it is less common to have a 16 thread system available to test the scalability of a threaded application.
