This is a little article I'm working on. That walks through using the dojo tree widget.
It starts with the conventional HTML method and progresses to the programmatic method.
I'm having some trouble with weird behavior on drag and drop and hope I can get a little feedback.

Can it load children on demand? ie: when a node is expanded...

yes. It could either load static data or with the RPCController it could query the server when a node is expanded.
If you like, I could add a demonstration of that.

A demonstration of that would be lovely! I had to write my own the other week, and it was a nightmare ;-)

cool, thanks. I'll probably add some improvements to it tonight. I was pretty tired when finishing it up (hard coding the json string).

I got lost. I was not sure which lines to include and which lines to exclude to have working prototype.
