How do you get your coworkers to use a wiki in the organisation? Some organisations have been extremely effective at getting mass participation on their wikis, others not so much. We've been working hard on a brand new wiki-related project, and I'd like to invite you to participate. Wikipatterns.com is intended to give anyone, anywhere, using any wiki software, a list of strategies for successfully introducing a wiki to their organization.

This is a much-needed site. Every time we try to employ a wiki we find ourselves confused about how to use "just enough" structure in an environment which is fundamentally freeform. If more of the patterns were identified and widely supported, then the whole wiki medium could become easier to use in a group setting.

I have also attempted to start a wiki in my military software development organization. I have to say, that this site is right on. I can see how we filled most of these patterns and how they worked. Our wiki started out very strong, then withered down to really just the founders using it and the software gurus telling the junior developers "its on the wiki" Nice site.
