Corey Trager writes in this blog post about how he's "stockpiling ammunition" (collecting articles) to use in a workplace argument (discussion) against using an ORM solution in a project. Now, apart from what he describes in his post, I don't know much about his project and in his case he may well be right to argue that using an ORM, for them, is a complete waste of time and effort. I don't know.

I think using ActiveObjects would be a poor solution at anytime.

So you actually think you are reducing complexity by using ORM? interesting :)

Trading complexities, IMO. I wouldn't want to deal with several current projects without an ORM. By the same token I have a couple projects where an ORM is overkill. I think it also depends on the ORM being used, really.
