No need to wait, java 8 is great. How does Java 8 affect you as a developer of web UIs? With e.g. Vaadin you can already today start using Java8 with for instance Glassfish as you dev server.

Some might suggest that GlassFish isn't the best App Server to show new examples on, going in favor of TomEE or WildFly--thoughts?

Due to its startup time? IMO rather irrelevant after first deployment. Last time I tried Java 8 bytecode with TomEE it died for some annotation processing, same with plain Jetty 9.1. Dunno about WildFly.

Tried WildFly 8.0.0.CR1: seems to work ok as well.
