I’m cross. Very cross. Cross with Sun for releasing a new version of Java which shatters both backward- and forward- compatibility. Cross enough that I cannot see any sensible way of moving my software to Java 6 in the near future.

On the same note, generics needed erasure for compatibility which bought developers NOTHING but pain and crippled generics. These are the reasons why academics should not be part of the JCP/JSR process. We need more real world architectures rather than the "perfect design" thinking.
