Are seemingly arbitrary rules, like the @PostConstruct annotation being unable to execute within a transactional or a security context, the same as stupid laws? It's almost like a bunch of possibly well meaning but badly misguided (and possibly well bribed) politicians just couldn't agree on the 'right' way to combine these features, so they did the worst thing that they could have done -- they simply failed to make a decision...
