Recently I began to play with Eclipse and several web frameworks as I will be using Eclipse at work and programming with JSP. Another reason for this web-framework-survey is that I need a web front-end for my open source project TimeFinder.

I'm torn on this post so I haven't voted up or down. I'm disappointed that Stripes (http://www.stripesframework.org) didn't get mentioned. So I went back and read it again because I thought maybe it was just a review of component oriented frameworks. But then I noticed JSP? JSP is not a web framework. I'm not sure why that was even included. It's nice to see some of the lesser known frameworks get some air time (thinwire, ZK, etc) even though I disagree with most of their concepts.
So the inclusion of step child web frameworks and the exclusion of Stripes balances out to a no vote from me. :) But good write up none the less.

You also should not compare RIA and REST frameworks, they do not respond to the same criteria. I mean, how can you compare GWT and JSPs? They are not used for the same type of applications.

@ icoloma, sorry I am newbie to the web stuff so I didn't compare them - I only looked how they work. This should help me to choose one for my project timefinder.
But please, could you describe why I shouldn't compare them?
@gdboling, sorry for disappointing you, but it would take me a year or so to include all frameworks. And so - as I mentioned in the post - I will include stripes in the (hopefully) second survey (and struts, MyFaces, it mill toolkit and jzeno)
Which else?
Additionally I will present a solution for ItsNat and IWebMvc from interested readers.
