Don't bother. If you want to do "Hello, world" in JNLP without understanding what is it you are doing and actually why, you will surely enjoy that.
But if you want to understand anything at all about JNLP this is largely useless and there are definitely better resources on the net.
Besides, quite frankly, author voting up for his own article? WTF?!

Apparently, they can and there is no (easy) way DZone or any other site could disallow that. It is rather matter of ethics/netiquette/culture maybe/whatever...
