I spent some time looking at Java web application frameworks that claim to provide rapid development. In unfairly condensed terms, the “Ruby on Rails for Java” sort of frameworks.

Don't forget WebObjects and the Direct-to-Web, Direct-to-Java-Client, and Direct-to-Web-Services methods it offers.

Spring needs to work closer with Appfuse. I'm interested in a Hibernate/JSTL/ACEGI/Spring/SpringWebflow setup, and I don't believe they have one.
