The title is mainly hype. It's a good overview of what JavaFX is and why it's interesting, but it doesn't live up to it's eye-catching header. No vote.

Yeah he doesn't really substantiate his claim about being 'faster'. He could only mean development time as JavaFX sits ontop of Swing (which sits ontop of AWT.. which sits ontop of the native widgets - how many layers do you need?). I'm sure you could say much the same about groovy's swingbuilder or any of the RCPs. The claim about Update N being nearly ubiquitous on every client machine by the end of the year struck me as being pretty ridiculous.
The increasing evangelism building around JavaFX is making me feel like Chartlon Heston at the end of Soylent Green. Want to cry out "JavaFX is Applets!, JavaFX is Applets!".

Incorrect title - voted down. Of course that if you know about JavaFX you understand that it's about development time, but come on.
Up until recently JavaFX has been extremely slow. This was fixed though by introducing a bytecode compiler which generates the equivalent Java Swing application, but in binary form. So in the best case it is as fast as Swing.

Misleading title.
