I’m a big fan of the site Stack Overflow, albeit I find it tough with my schedule to fully contribute to the site but before the site was even live I was a faithful listener to their podcast. In a few episodes Joel and Jeff talk about Test Driven Development (TDD) and how they don’t get why it’s so useful because really if you are a software company you should just hire awesome programmers who don’t need to write unit tests.
Their position is pretty much born out of ignorance, and I’m not being a jerk here, I love Jeff and Joel I just recognize their ignorance for what it is and this post explains the benefits of TDD as I see them -- a person actively using the concepts and technologies behind TDD.
