Is that post about new features in jQuery 1.4 which is very outdated (jQuery is at version 1.9 now)? If yes, then all the voteups were made by machine.

I think it's not made by a machine. most properly it's users upvoting by only reading the title.

The live() function was deprecated in 1.7 and removed in 1.9. Definitely an old article.
