Yesterday, I wrote that Google needs to come clean with its users: Either the company is meddling with search results (as all evidence suggests) or it is still committed to all the ideals it espoused when the company was going public.

I'm starting to get a bad feeling about Google. I think they may be starting to lose their way. Instead of being a force for good, they may be starting down a path of short-sighted, profit driven behavior, similar to what I expect and get from Microsoft, Apple, and Facebook. It'll help their quarterly profits, but it will erode customer/user trust and loyalty toward Google.

Lack of support for true pseudonyms on Google+ and now their plan to to combine all your personal data for Google's own benefit, with no practical way to opt-out, is very disappointing.
