Wow, thank god for the "Splash Screen Direct Support", I don't know how I've been able to live without it for the past 10 years. This is huge and will take a burden off of my shoulders as a developer. Watch out Ruby, Java has splash screen support...
Actually, that is a great feature that should have been in Java a long time ago. It means you can get an instant splash screen instead of having to wait for the JVM to start up. This can be slow when loading a large amount of classes over a slow network connection, and means users often try to start the application multiple times because they didn't see anything come up the 1st time.
