From the "duh obvious" department... Linux is killing Solaris. After recently having deployed my project to both OSes, I can't wait to get back to an all-Linux data center. Why? There's no htop on Solaris.

This blog makes a rather bad argument, blaming the operating system for the design of the utility. If htop can't be easily ported to Solaris, that speaks to the design of htop rather than the failings of Solaris. The top utility has been ported to Solaris, and works perfectly. The spirit of open source can be applied to Solaris as well as it can for Linux. If you want to run htop on Solaris, port it, and contribute your code to http://www.blastwave.org or to opensolaris.org.

Yawn. Linux is killing nothing with it's 0.25 share of the market.
