I'm kinda surprised that the author didn't link to an amazon account and try and make money off the post. I didn't even see ads on the page.

weird.

but kinda refreshing.

A lot of people are against ads and blog for fun ;). I know I have no ads, but I have enough users to add them. Is $100 a month for small sites worth cluttering up your content?

I'm not against ads at all, especially for well-written articles.... the author deserves to make some money.

I just get really tired of all the "Top 10 List of Top 10 Lists!" that are out there just to make a buck off some links to other content.

Yes, /if/ it encourages the blogger to work more on the site or produce better articles or services. If it does not, then not necessarily.

He's missing a few. I have a similar list. Covers both Ruby specific books and Ruby on Rails.

If you see something missing, comment and I'll update the article.
