When IBM’s Watson appeared on Jeopardy!, it performed well enough to handily beat the two best players in the show’s history. The computer, when given a clue, scoured its database of knowledge and returned the correct answer almost every time. One particular question, asked towards the end of Watson’s final appearance, caught my eye:
