Database to XML and back again. If everyone's doing some or all of this, then shouldn't we write it once, get it right, and standardize? JDBC 3.0's WebRowSet offers a profound increase in power over the old ResultSet. Sharad Acharya shows you what's possible.

So - as the original author of the WebRowSet technology, it is really nice to see an article like this pop up on OnJava.com. I think the slow uptake was really conencted to the fact that the concepts we attempted to present with WebRowSet were really ahead of their time - now with so much SOAP and SOA infrastructure at anyone's disposal, the time is certainly ripe for this to be re-visited.
