If I take $100,000 away from Peldi Guilizzoni (or whoever the guy/girl is), can I still be confident about Peldi Guilizzoni that he will keep making nice (pieces of) software?
See, it's not about Peldi Guilizzoni or even Tobin Harris -- it's about generating enough income through the things we create. Some few genuine software developers are so passionate and many software *observers* are so quick in giving pieces of advice that "software innovation must continue even if generation of $$$ is taken out of the equation".
We respect the passion; but the *observations* or opinions that stink do not command as much respect.
