SAP is known for being one of the names synonymous with closed source, propriety applications for the enterprise sector. What a lot of people actually do not know is that SAP is also a huge supporter and contributor to open source. Being one of the major contributors to the Eclipse Foundation and their support for the Java language, SAP is actually one of the companies that requires a closer look from the open source community. I recently hooked up with Michael Bechauf, SAP Community Network to talk about SAP’s view on open source as well as his response to some comments made about SAP by ZDNet blogger Dennis Howlett.
