“ModernCaptcha” is a simple script in order to prevent spam in a very user friendly way. Your visitors don’t have to type some characters -- the verification is made by choosing the company name belonging to the logo that is shown. As always, also read discussion below blog post.

Interesting. Google attorneys are already on to folks for 'googling'... I wonder if they'll like the idea of their logo being used like this. It does have merit, though... how about a Captcha with shapes? mouse, pc, phone, button, etc. Hmmm....

http://www.kittenauth.com/ has this implemented (you have to choose animals of the same breed), and has way stronger algorithm against guessing.

This completely defeats the purpose of having a captcha. Even if a bot GUESSES it has a 1 in 5 chance of getting through. Not to mention the fact that a bot could easily compare the images to each of the 5 possibilities.

There may be not 5, but 150 possibilities, with 5 randomly chosen to present to client. But you're right about 1/5 guessing...

Akismet works wonders for me.
But don't forget about Hot Captcha:
